A company representative from Journey Africa Wild Safaris will meet you at your hotel, apartment or airport if you have just arrived and give a briefing on your 4-Day Kenya Wildlife and Cultural Safari. Set off from Nairobi to the foothills of Loita Hills, a 3-hour drive that will take you up to the Maji Moto Village where you will be warmly welcomed by the locals and right away start exploring the community. A local guide will take you around to learn about their way of life including warrior training, visiting manyatta homes to have a look at the kind of houses they live in, and checking how young women do beadwork. You will close the day with a campfire with the Maasai warriors, listening to the interesting stories of their life experiences. When you wake up in Maji Moto, you simply feel like a Majo Moto local considering the awesome stay with them. Enjoy your leisurely breakfast at the lodge and check out. Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve which is located just about 1.5 hours away. On arrival at the park, you will have a game drive while transferring to your lodge. Check-in, relax, and later have lunch. You have more 1-2 hours to relax before your safari guide picks you up for an afternoon game drive which will give you a chance to experience the wondrous natural beauty that comes with sightings of several wild animals under the evening mild temperature featured by the lovely sunset. Animals you should expect to see include the Big Five, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, topi, Thompson’s gazelle, and cheetahs among others. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
With wildlife exceptionally active and sunrise sensationally golden, Masai Mara is a gem. You will drive to its plains early morning to have the best of these active wild animals before the sun starts to scorch and chase them to rest under shades. Of the 90 species of mammals in Masai Mara, giraffes, zebras, elephants, topis, and wildebeests are common sightings while chances of seeing lions, leopards, and hyenas are also high. Break the day with a picnic lunch and thereafter head to the Mara River where hundreds of mammals congregate to drink and cool their bodies. The river attracts wildebeests, elephants, dik-dik, gazelles, and zebras among others. As you return to the lodge, enjoy this beautiful sunset and call it a day. Back to the lodge.
You’ll have breakfast at the lodge, check out, and set off for Nairobi. The journey from Masai Mara to Nairobi takes about 5 hours, you will therefore arrive in the afternoon and your safari driver will drop you at the airport or any other agreed-upon location. End of Safari
